We're back!

Hey guys,

Well the summer is over & you're all back at school- bet your loving it & have missed it lots!!!

We're also back from our holidays & getting into the swing of things again. We've all had a refreshing time away but of course have missed you all lots so couldn't stay away too long...

So the seasons are changing! The summer has ended & Autumn has started, I know going from Summer to Autumn isn't the best as it gets darker earlier, colder & wetter but if we didn't have it then the plants wouldn't be able to get rid of their old leaves or petals & be ready to grow new ones for spring next year & they wouldn't be able to prepare for the cold winter that could kill them! Why are they talking about nature & seasons... weirdo's!!!
Well actually seasons changing is kinda like our lives in a way isn't it? Some of you may have moved up a year in school or may have moved to a new school, or may have even started secondary school- a big & scary change! But even though these changes are happening isn't it exciting???
Laura is getting married in March & she'll have to live with a boy (Yuk!)- that's a huge change! Kat had a long season of waiting to move into her own house, it happened but only when the timing was right & she has now started a whole new season with her new house mates! Ally is still going through a season of patience & understanding with her shoulder as it is still hurting from December, she is having to go through this season knowing that God will heal her but in His timing & that's hard especially in our job having to dance a lot! Vicki is going through a season of trusting God with her mum who has a serious heart condition & will need a major operation soon, so she has to trust that God has control of this situation & that He will protect them all through this time!
So as you can see even us in Collective go through different seasons & we know that this will continue for the rest of our lives. The seasons that we go through aren't always easy or nice but we know that we can get through them with God help which does make it easier, than it would without Him!!! So don't be scared of the changes & seasons it makes you who you are, there are people around you to help & support you & even share these times with you but also don't forget that God is always there to help all you need to do is talk to Him & pray!

"What time is it... it's summer time, it's our vacation!!!" well it's yours, not ours just yet...
Hope you're loving the start of your summer holidays, hope you're having a fab time- don't forget to put your suncream on when the sun is out!

We've been really busy this month but have had the enjoyment of traveling about a bit- up, down, left, right, backwards, forwards all across the country, so if we stopped by in your area a big hello and thank you to you:) We've had an amazing time everywhere we've gone so thank you for having so much fun with us!

Feelin hot hot hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe! We are loving this weather, but be warned...wear sunscreen. otherwise you are just asking for trouble. ooh, and beware of all the mozzies around at the moment. We saw some bigguns at Ally's birthday bbq and it didn't take long for them to attack!
Laura has just gotten rid of her bedbugs (seriously, they actually exist!) with the help of some bug spray, although she mainly succeeded in gassing herself rather than the bugs. Cough splutter!
Why did God make mosquitoes and begbugs anyway? Ooh, and wasps?! There is simply no excuse for them. Does anyone know how long this glorious weather will last for? I wanna know whether to buy some new flip flops!

Hello! I hope you’re all having a FANTASTIC spring and enjoying the sunshine we’ve been having (although today it is pouring with rain!)
I love the sunshine. I think its great that when the sun is shining, people just seem...happier. They have smiles on their faces and a spring in their step. The world seems so much bigger when it is sunny.
But what about rainy days? How do you feel when the sun isn’t shining and it’s a bit grey? How do you feel when it is pouring with rain? I was walking to the bus stop this morning and got caught in a massive downpour and I got totally soaked (top tip...never buy an umbrella from the pound shop!) I had to dry out my socks on the radiator at the office! Or how about that horrible misty sort of rain which makes your hair all frizzy? That sort of rain tends to stick around all day.
Sometimes we may feel like our lives are like a sunny day. We can run around outside with our friends and go to the park and eat ice cream and go to the beach and it just feels good. Like all is right with the world. If you feel like that right now, great! God loves it when we feel like that. I think it makes him happy to see us smile.
Unfortunately though, life isn’t always like that. Sometimes it can feel like a raging storm is going on around us and we can’t avoid it. You might have stuff going on in your life right now which is really hard to deal with. It might feel like the rain is pouring down and you’re getting soaked. If you do feel like that, I think it would be great if you talked to someone about it. It can really help. And God always wants us to talk to him, whether we’re happy or sad.
Maybe you don’t feel the sun is either shining in your life, or a storm is going on. You just might feel like your skies are a little grey and drizzly. That can be really hard too. You might be a bit fed up or bored with life. God wants you to talk to him about that too. He cares how we feel all the time.

I’ve been through sunny , stormy and drizzly times and the one thing I’ve learnt is that God is there through all of it. He loves us all soooooo much and knowing that gives me joy even when times are hard. Life isn’t always easy or happy, but God and his love stay the same at all times...amazing and huge. You can always rely on it. It says in the bible ‘Lord, you have been our home since the beginning. Before the mountains were born and before you created the earth and the world, you are God. You have always been and you always will be’. Psalm 90:1-2

Hellllllllloooooooooo everyone and Happy New Year!

We are pleased to announce we are back in Colchester armed with a new band line up and lots of new songs! Check the band "biog" section of the site and our myspace (www.myspace.com/collectiveeastanglia) in the coming days to meet our new girl Vicki!

We are still available to take bookings anywhere in England for schools weeks and Church presentations. If you're not sure if we can do something you'd like to book us for as you don't think it comes under either of the categories please ask us anyway and we'll see if we can do it. There's no harm in asking right? (Note: lots of you school pupils ask us if we can do parties, unfortunately we can't :).....)

Our challenge to the youth workers, Churches and schools out there is to try and make this year the busiest Collective East Anglia have ever experienced!

We're back from Summer!

Hi everyone, we hope you had a good summer. We did! We spent lots of time catching up with family friends and having a break from the mad Collective lifestyle.

No sooner as we got back in the office on tuesday though we have been launched in toa busy lifestyle once more. This morning we were up at 5A.M!!!!! to be in a primary school in Ipswich and had lots of fun entertaining the small children in their assembly! THEY joined in ALL the actions!

We're just swinging by the office on our way to the dance studio to rehearse for a concert tomorrow night in Ipswich. The rest of the week has also been spent busying ourselves on the treadmills and doing classes in the morning at the gym and the afternoons rehearsing in the dance studio.

We'd all love to hear about your holidays, the highs, the lows and DEFINATELY any embarrasing or funny stories you have!

Harwich Secondary School Concert

Hi all!

Just to let you know that there is a concert for you all on Friday night!

We will be doing loads more songs for you all and will be sharing more about our faith in a fun way! We also have two very special guests coming, MC Wreckless is coming from London to rap for us and DJ Andy G ( who DJ's at two of Colchester's nightclubs; Route and the Hippodrome) will be on the decks!

We are going to have a video screen with graphics and loads of cool lights. And guess what......it's FREE!!!!! So why not check it out?

It will run from 7:30 - 9:30pm in the school hall. As it is red nose day on Friday we WILL be having a collection bucket so please bring some money to donate to Comic Relif.

Band merchandise will also be available for you to purchase on the night.

Collective and Kung Fu

We will be supporting this event by performing! Yes, we will be starting work at 7AM that day so to see many of your lovely smiling faces would be lovely! It's an event that's open to everybody of any age and the main man of the day is Tony Anthony -THREE TIMES WORLD KUNG FU CHAMPION!

"Raised in China, Tony was trained in the way of Kung Fu, becoming a 3 times world champion, a master of the art and a highly proficient combat fighter. First of all, it's 2007 can you believe it?!!! This means our band line up has changed, the new Collective East Anglia for 2007 are ... Sophie, Kat, Ally and Laura. Jayne is happily moved in to her new house and is very excited about teaching her dance classes! So it's time to say a huge HELLO to the Lovely Laura. Stay tuned for the updated Biography section to be the first to hear more about Laura!!!!

Our BIG NEWS is unfortunately going to upset a lot of you boys and for that we are sorry, we hope you still love us....deep breath, are you sitting down???? here goes....

Last weekend, outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, SOPHIE became engaged....yes ENGAGED to her boyfriend Kristian. Stay tuned for ring pics..(we'll see if we can get some from Soph for you). They wont be getting married in the next year but we are all very very happy and excited for them both and we are sure you will be too!

What we are up to..

hey everyone!

Just thought we would drop by and say hello! We are up in Manchester at the moment for those of you that don't yet know. We are having dance rehearsals for next year with Laura (who some of you have already met) who will be joining us in January.

We are curious to know what the weather is like for you all down in the southern quarters of England, up in the sunny north it's done nothing but rain, rain, rain and yep you guessed it RAIN since we arrived here on Sunday! (Ally now wishes she had packed her waterproof coat and not been so optomistic about the weather! hehe).

Well we have to go and have some dance lessons; no doubt we will be here again shortly chatting to you guys about your Christmas holidays, not long now you lot so HANG IN THERE! School's almost over for a couple of weeks!

We had so much fun with you this week and had no idea how many of you would show up! We were astonished to say the least and once you got on tables and chairs and clapping and such it was so hard to keep singing and to stop to giggle (as you may have noticed from Ally's reaction in "set my heart on fire")

Now you're at College/Work - HOT or Not?

We can almost hear you shouting it! Congratulations on your GCSE's guys! Whatever you got we hope you have found your next step in life be it in college or in a new job!

We still want to hear from you lot and find out what you're up to, we've gotten the chance to know a lot of you when we have been in your schools and you guys have the potential to change the world! Don't look down on yourselves and your personal abilities, don't let your dreams die, God gave you talents and interests for a reason!

We hope everything goes smoothly for this transition time that your in. You can use this blog to reply to us and tell us what was HOT and what was NOT about your summer, GCSE results or new adventures in life! (just remember not to swear please or we can't put it on :) )

Hey you lot,
Wow check you out! Another year older and another year closer to leaving school! We just want to say that we hope you are really enjoying your first week back and that you get really great teachers and class mates.

Don't let anything about this year scare you, especially you Y7's and 11's. Every year of school is important but these years are probably the scariest for you.

You can have a great year! As "parent-like" as it may sound, if you pay attention in class and do YOUR BEST with your work that's the most important thing. No one can ask for more than your best and you all have so much potential in you to do amazing things in life and including this year at school! You can do ANYTHING you set your mind too, just don't quit! And Collective will always be checking back here to listen to you and encourage you - that's why we do this blog, for YOU!

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Sophie, Kat, Jayne and Ally!

We don't know how many year 7's will have found this site yet but if you've found it WELCOME! It's nice to see you here.

As Collective, we know how hard it can be starting at secondary school and we just want to take the time to tell you that you can get through it! Remember lots of other people are in the same boat as you and if you see someone in your class who is on their own or sad, why not take the chance to make friends with them, maybe you could share some sweets or give a compliment or even just lend a pen!

If you are struggling making friends and find you're on your own, be BRAVE, take a deep breath and say hi to someone. Better yet, find a club at school you can get involved in and you'll make friends in no time!

Go for it guys! We are praying for you and who knows, we could be coming to a school near you this year !!!

Updates and hello to TCC!

Hey everyone,

We hope you have had an amazing summer full of happy memories and funny stories. Please leave your summer memories as comments to this particular blog so we girlies can share in your memories of summer 2006!

Once we are all back in the office we will take some time to tell you a couple of stories from our summer too!

We will update our diary dates page on the site asap but thought it'd be a good idea to do a quick blog here for you guys so you have a bit of a heads up.

If you live in Ipswich look out for us in your schools from september 25th-29th and october 2nd-6th. We will be doing a concert for these two schools later on in November for you guys!

Ally would like to say a huge hello to John and Val and thanks you guys very much for taking the time to track her down at Grapevine and giving big hugs!
AND hello to the TCC lot who were there also in all their madness! She enjoyed getting to see you from time to time on the site and hopes you all had fun!

Hi guys!

Sophie would like say a big "Hello!" to the crew from Shoeburyness High School that she met whilst queing for the TANGO BLAST at Blackpool Pleasure Beach over the summer! She was very surprised that you recognised her 200 miles up the country but really enjoyed chatting to you all and hopes that you enjoyed the rest of your holiday!! She also wanted you to know that we were all really impressed watching you dance in the Street Dance show at your school, and that you should keep it up!! One day we could be paying to watch YOU perform on a London stage...who knows!!??

Why tiredness, coffee and pizza don't mix!

Hey there everyone!

Thank you for continuing to check out our new site! How cool is it, we love it and we are sure you do too!!!

Our tour is going amazingly well, we have been having so much fun, even though some of our journeys have taken nearly 7 gruelling hours to complete in good old Mrs Goggins! We have loved being together singing very loudly to the radio and all our cd's. Our fave perk of the bus trips is when we get to stop and refill our caffeine levels.

Now, you may think the post tile is a little bit odd so now let me let you in to the Collective brain.......a scary place to go.....

It was a pleasant and sunny day as Collective set off on the first adventure of the tour -> LIVERPOOL! All was going smoothly, the luggage was on board, the gear was neatly packed (another wonderful job by Sophie) and the tunes were blasting out of the stereo (much to most motorists amusement!). The excitement level grew as we saw a sign that was sure to make us smile as always it read: "CAMBRIDGE SERVICES" our home away from home! Mrs Goggins swiftly increased in speed and we arrived at the shining doors that were to open to a world full of silliness!

We each got our coffee and pizza and sat down to enjoy the wonderful taste little knowing that disaster was just around the corner.....the tray was on the table, the pizza box was on the tray and all was as it should be until Kat decided to add one final piece to her tray, coffee! Noticing the pizza box was open she promptly and firmly pushed the lid down and as she did so the world went into slow motion and we heard Kat scream! She was COVERED in coffee!

See the problem was that the tray hadn't been sitting entirely on the table and as the pizza box closed the tray flipped, the coffee took flight and then gravity took over and it covered Kats jeans! We couldn't stop laughing! It was very funny! Wish we'd taken a photo.

So that was the first of many embarrassing moments for Collective on tour and if you stay tuned we may let you in on a few more things.....
